Bonnet Adjust Screws

Bonnet height is set by nylon screws located in the bonnet hinge scoop. There are five holes in each scoop: four with nylon screws and one with a steel bolt to attach the hinge scoop support bracket. Elan windscreen A-pillar trim 

Excellent reproductions of the trim used on the windscreen pillars of S3 and S4 Elans.  Vacuum-formed as original, these are not fiberglass imitations that are difficult to fit and finish.  The grained plastic is very similar to original, and they're available in both early and late versions.  Late cars have an "eyeball" vent mounted in the pillar trim, and there is a flat area where this vent is mounted.  Early cars had no vent and the trim has a gentle curve.  Trim is only sold as "pairs."

Unlike a conventional plate-style limited slip differential, the Quaife ATB differential relies on gears rather than clutch plates for its operation. That means it is much smoother in operation. The Quaife ATB differential never locks harshly with a set pre-load of wheel slip across the driven axle, like a conventional LSD. Rather, the Quaife differential automatically biases the torque away from the spinning wheel across the axle, to a constantly varying degree, and never locks

Differential Stiffening Bracket

Introduced by Lotus on the Elan Sprint, this part can be installed on any Elan or Plus 2.  The brace connects the two differential mounting bolts and picks up one bolt on the differential housing, strengthening the overall assembly to prevent damage to the differential mounting "ears."   Highly recommended for any Elan or Plus 2, whether equipped with rotoflex couplings or c-v rear axles.

Solid steel rear hubs (not cast) for bolt-on wheels are up to the task of competition applications yet are a direct replacement for the original hub. Hubs are now "double-drilled" - use original studs or 3/8-24 socket head cap screws if long studs are required.

Wheel clearance?
Check the clearance of the outer rear wishbone bolt heads to the inner wheel surface. Thin head bolts are used at this location but some modification at the rear wishbone bush may be required. The end of the bush protruding from the lower wishbone loop can be ground off for additional clearance. 

Tires?
We recommend using the original tire sizes to avoid clearance issues. Actual tire dimensions vary with manufacturers so it is very difficult to predict what oversize tires will fit. 
In general S1,2,3 cars can use 145-13 and 155-13. 
In general S4 cars can use 155-13 and 165-13.
We do not sell tires. Check with other owners through Lotus clubs and internet forums for specific suggestions.

Replacement oil fill cap.  Threaded cap and insert to replace the cap used on all TwinCam engines, 907 and early Turbos.

Aluminum threaded insert has a machined lip to fit into the cam cover with a positive stop at the top. Slots are machined into the neck to engage the two pins in the cam cover opening. The threaded insert can easily be epoxied in the cam cover.  A polished aluminum cap seals with an o-ring for a secure and leak-free installation.

Lucas Sport Coil

This is an OE Lucas High Output Sports Coil, rated at 40.000 volts, for cars that DO NOT use an external ballast resistor and have a push on connector for the coil. They can be used on the later cars but you have to remove the ballast resistor. This Sports Coil has a primary resistance of 3 ohms and works with points and Pertronix Ignitor I ignitions. Stromberg Throttle Spindle Coupling

Two of these couplings are used on all Stromberg Lotus applications: Elan, Plus 2, Europa TC and Special.  The original couplings eventually crack and break.  Check the couplings on your car for cracks and flex, and replace them if you see any signs of failure.

For those owners interested in a good electric pump to replace the mechanical pump on a TwinCam, here's a great option.  Low pressure 2.5 - 4.5 psi for use with Weber or Stromberg carburetors; overall length including attached fuel filter 6-1/2", about 2" diameter.  Fittings for 5/16" (8mm) fuel line and mounting bracket included.

Remember to use the thick spacer/gasket between the block and the mechanical fuel pump on your TwinCam. This spacer is absolutely necessary for proper pump operation, and it also insulates the fuel pump from the heat of the block.

TwinCam Weber Fuel Loom

This one's just like the original, with metal banjo fittings and "T" fitting, stainless steel braided hose with crimped hose end fittings and a compression fitting at the fuel pump connection.  New banjo bolts and sealing washers are included.  Check your old fuel loom regularly for leaks and replace it at the first sign of a problem.  A pinhole leak under pressure spraying a fine mist of fuel towards the distributor is a perfect recipe for barbecued Lotus.

Fuel Tee

Metal tee fitting with 1/4" fittings is a good replacement for Stromberg-carbureted TwinCam engines.  Hopefully nobody still has a plastic fuel tee, but if you're re-plumbing your fuel system here's a great replacement part.

Clutch Release Bearing

Flat-face clutch release bearing (throw-out bearing) is a direct replacement for the original bearing used in the Elan, Plus 2 and Lotus Cortina.  The flat face of the bearing presses against the flat ring located at the center of the clutch pressure plate.  This bearing presses onto the original release bearing hub; no modifications required.

Replacement Rocker Switches
We're offering replacement switches that are very close to the originals in size, shape and function.  The rocker itself is virtually identical to the original but the metal frame that mounts the rocker pivot is slightly wider than the original.  A little work with a Dremel tool on the wood facia panel can provide the necessary clearance.  The mounting hole spacing on the new switches may differ slightly from the originals also.

Courtesy Light Switch

Replacement door light switch for Elan and also replacement bonnet light for the Elan Plus 2.   This flange-mount micro switch can also be used to replace the headlamp micro switches on some early cars.

The courtesy light switch uses one or more of these spacer/gaskets. One is used as a gasket, but oftentimes more than one is needed to properly position the switch so that it turns the light OFF when the door, bonnet is closed. 

The original part was 1/16" thick (.0625"). These replacement parts are .040" thick.
